About Anesthesia Thoughts

I am an anesthesiologist practicing general anesthesia in Los Angeles. I love learning and I love teaching. Even with my passion, keeping up with the evolving science is difficult.

Most of the articles I see published rehash already-settled questions, ask questions of little importance, are poorly designed, or otherwise lack clinically impactful information. I’m not here to knock academic research—understanding the neural pathways of anesthesia is certainly important—but if a study doesn’t have the potential to change how I practice, I am unlikely to be interested.

My goal is to cut through the noise and highlight what actually matters clinically. I want to share articles and insights that are directly applicable to our daily work, and to challenge the persistent myths we were all taught with the best of intentions. I hope you will walk away from these posts with ideas you can immediately use to improve your practice and better serve your patients.

If you have any topics you would like to see discussed or any feedback, you can submit it here.
